Growing up we always attended the Bear River City 24th of July celebration. It is funny how our younger day traditions follow into adulthood. We just can't miss it. It pretty much consists of sitting at the park all day and enjoying a yummy hamburger stand hamburger. Kids run around and play an assortment of games. The day starts with a 5k, breakfast, parade, fishing pond, which results in junk toys, snow cones, bounce houses, races, baby show, auction, real fishing pond (where the kids try to catch a live trout), kids rodeo, and then live music later in the evening.
Now that grandma has a swimming pool at their house, we usually end up over there after lunch and the kids enjoy swimming and then some sort of pot luck dinner. It is nice that we all live so close to each other and can get together and enjoy each other's company.
