August 31 - September 3rd - Cabin

Me and the kids went to the cabin with Kyle and Misty's family, Jarom and Launa's family, Derek and Zjani's family. We left Brigham City about 6:30. I followed Kyle and Misty. We made pretty good time and arrived at the cabin at about 11:30. It took us awhile to get the kids settled down, but eventually (about 1:30 a.m.) we were are snuggled in bed. Jarom and Launa arrived about 1/2 hours after us and Derek and Zjani arrived about an hour after them. My cousin Steve and his wife Misty also came to the cabin, but they stayed in their trailer. The kids had a blast just running around and playing in the dirt. The weather was perfect. Didn't rain once, which is a surprise while at the cabin. Usually there is at least one down pour while staying at the cabin. I took Jarom and Launa's family pictures Saturday night. They turned out really cute. Sunday I took Maisie's 4th grade pictures at the cabin. She really wanted her pictures taken there. It was a fun different place to take them. We got all sorts of weird looks from passer by's, but I think it was worth it. I can not believe she is getting so big. She is turning into a little lady. We left Monday at about 10:00. We stopped at Cabela's and spent at least a good hour there. We didn't get home until about 6:00 p.m. It was nice to get home. Unpacking and laundry is the worst part about camping and going out of town. 

August 24, 2012 - Camping, North Canyon Idaho

We went camping with Eric's friend Jace from work. Jace had a couple of friends that came to. It was a nice relaxing weekend. We haven't been camping for about a month, so it was nice to get out and relax.

August 23 - Parker starts Kindergarten

Parker, Parker, Parker  - where do I begin. I can not believe my baby started kindergarten. It is so hard to see your child go from one stage of their life to the next. He is such a character. He can be such a quiet kid, but can be a loud kid at the same time. He likes to say, "Hello Ladies". He showed one of his After School Club  teachers what he does when a hot lady walks by. If you can imagine, he twirls around with one arm extended pointing is pointer fingers and clicking his tongue. Now that's what you do when you see a hot lady. Watch out ladies, you have a ladies man in the works. Parker has such an imagination and loves playing with toys. Monster trucks, hot wheels, legos, and now he has claimed my ipad. Parker is barely learning to spell, but he sure can manage to look up Gravedigger, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and several other things on the ipad without any help.

I think I just need to lock my kids up and let them out when they are 18.

I love my ladies man, "Parker", with all my heart and can not wait to see what he becomes.

August 20th - Maisie starts 4th Grade

I can not believe my Maisie is starting 4th grade. Time sure does fly. Maisie has always been one that gets her homework done and I don't have to question whether she has done it or not. She loves school and is a social butterfly. I think she is starting to figure out that boys exist. SCARY!!!!! Don't worry we have lectured her that she has to graduate from college before she can think about getting married, let alone babies. Her big thing is at recess to play ball tag. Basically, the kids chase each other around and try to hit each other with the ball. I think it is her and a bunch of boys. I need to teach her that boys have cooties.

One of my favorite sayings that is on my bedroom wall is,

"LOVING THEM FOR WHO THEY ARE AND WHO THEY WILL BECOME"

I love my Maisie with all my heart and am so proud of who she is and can't wait to see who she becomes.

August 9-14, 2012 - Gary & Mary Visit

Sallie's son, Gary, and his girlfriend, Mary, came to visit. They were here from Wednesday afternoon to Wednesday morning. Eric and Gary have become really good friends and when they come to visit we spend a lot of time with them. We had dinner Friday night at Sallie's. She cooked elk steaks and I took fried peppers and french bread, and pink stuff fruit salad (Pink Stuff is the name Jerry gave it). We had a good dinner and good company. Saturday they had a family reunion in Preston and then later that day we went to the Cache County Fair and rodeo. We only lost Parker once at the fair. He didn't see that we had turned around and kept walking. We panicked for a minute knowing that he has a horrible sense of direction. (He gets this from his father). All I had to do was walk a little further down the line of booths and he was talking to a nice lady that was going to help him find his parents. We had a good time at the rodeo. During the bull riding it was pretty intense with almost ever bull rider getting injured. I do not like watching people get hurt. 

Sunday I worked on editing pictures most of the day and then me and the kids went to my parents for dinner. Eric wanted to spend time with Gary, so he had dinner over there. When we got home we went over for a little bit before going home.

Monday, I took the day off work and we went over to Bear Lake and went through Minnetonka Cave and had lunch in Garden City. When we got home Eric mowed the lawn and then we went over to Sallie's. Gary had to fix a door that his dog, Roscoe, had chewed through. He does not like being left home alone. 

Tuesday night, we had another BBQ and enjoyed visiting for the last night before they left Wednesday morning. We had a great time spending time with them. It's always nice having great friends and neighbors. 

August 4, 2012 - Ride with Sallie to Winnemucca, NV

Sallie asked me a couple of weeks ago if I would be interested in riding with her to Winnemucca, NV to pick up her grandson, Jerry, who has been in California for the summer spending time with his Mom & Dad. It's a long boring drive and I can see how you would want someone to ride with to keep you company. We left at about 7:30 a.m. and got back to Logan about 8:30 p.m. We arrived in Winnemucca at about 12:30 went to the grocery store and then ate lunch at a Mexican restaurant. Just as we finished lunch Jerry arrived with his dad and uncle. We then headed back to home. We had good conversation and other than being a long day, it really wasn't that bad. My mom watch the kids overnight and was willing to meet us in Riverside to bring the kids back to me, so we didn't have to back track and pick them up. The kids were excited to see Jerry (Jer Bear). Parker sure likes to tease him by calling him Jer Bear. Jerry was excited to be back home to Nibley.

August 3, 2012 - Tiffani & Kasey's Wedding

Today I took Tiffani and Kasey's wedding pictures at the Logan Temple. I took the day off of work so that I could spend the day focusing on capturing their special day. Everything went well and couldn't have been more perfect. They had their luncheon at the USU Institute building. Later that evening me and the kids went to their reception in Brigham at The Lodge. The kids went home with my parents and stayed the night since I was riding with Sallie to Winnemucca, NV to pick up her grandson, Jerry, in the morning.

I have had a crazy couple of weeks with taking pictures. I have photographed 5 sessions in the last two weeks. I have a couple weeks of editing to do, but then I don't have any planned photo shoots for a month or so.
