Trunk-or-Treat

Eric left to go hunting the day before Halloween, so it was me and the kids trick-or-treating. Whoever scheduled the hunt to begin on Halloween definitely is not thinking of the kids. It's not a big deal to me, but hopefully the kids won't remember that their dad was not around for trick or treating. I took the afternoon off and Maisie and I went and got our nails done. We ran home and got the kids in their costumes. Maisie was Spider Woman and Parker was Rapheal. We stopped by Sallie's and trick-or-treated. Then ran by Regina's. Because we usually go to Bear River City to trick-or-treat, we don't ever go to anyone in Logan. We then headed over to Bear River City for the annual trunk-or-treat at the park. I am a big fan of trunk-or-treating because you can get it all done and over with in about 30 minutes. Once it was over, we walked across the street to Grandma and Grandpa Hendrickson's. They love seeing all the kids in their costumes. Shanna was so kind and took the long way to Julander grandparents and let the kids trick-or-treat along the way. It took them about 45 minutes to make it back to my mom's. My mom always cooks soup and dirt pudding. YUM!!! Then we came home. I hate when Halloween is on a school night. The kids are always so exhausted. 

Eric's Elk Hunt

Eric left to go on the muzzleload elk hunt on Tuesday, October 30th. The hunt goes for about 10 days, but he very seldom stays the whole time. I think there were about 13 of them that were going at one point or another over the 10 day hunt. There is very limited cell phone service on the mountain so when one person hears from someone they have to pass the news onto everyone. We heard on Thursday that 5 of them got one opening morning. Eric included. We then heard that some of them would be coming home on Friday. Josh sent me a picture of Eric's elk on there way home. It is a really big elk on one side an then a freak on the other. Apparently, that is really cool in the hunter's book. Eric was really excited, which makes me excited for him. As long as he is happy, I am happy. Apparently, it will be hanging in my house soon. Shanna & Misty were at my house that day, so later that night we packed up the kids and headed to Bear River City to check out these elk. It was good to see him. Even though it was only a couple of days it felt like forever since I couldn't talke to him. Saturday we went back out to Bear River and helped cut and wrap the elk. Then later that evening we went out to dinner. I am grateful that I live so close to my family and can get together often. 

Carving Pumpkins

My mom gave us pumpkins for the kids to carve. Both my mom and Grandpa Hendricks planted lots of pumpkins, so their was plenty to go around. We brought two home for Sallie and Jerry. We invited Sallie and Jerry over to carve pumpkins with us. We had a lot of fun. Parker really got into carving his and wanted lots of faces. I think he ended up with three different ones carved out. 

14th Anniversary

A couple weeks ago Eric came to me and said, "Amy, I have been thinking for a while." Oh boy, I knew this was going to be good.  "We haven't really ever done anything for our anniversary. I think we should get couple massages." I about fell off my chair. If you know Eric at all, you would never expect this from him. One - he does not like people to touch him. Two - gift giving is just not is forte. After 14 years of marriage, I don't expect anything and am perfectly fine with this. I know he loves me and takes good care of me and that is all I need. So today we had some wonderful massages from two ladies from Dr. Astle's office. It was really nice to go out and do something to celebrate. I asked if he liked it and he thought it was okay. Maybe something he could do once a year. 

The Julander Family

Trying to get everyone together for a photo is quite challenging, but we managed. I have to say we are a great looking family. I am so grateful for my family and that we live so close together that we can get together often. The cousins just love playing together.
